Wanna know what it's like to "Drive" in Rush hour in Dallas?

Wednesday, September 21, 2011

For those of you who are privileged enough to be at home in your jammies and teddy bear slippers at 8:00 a.m. every morning, or walking to class with Starbucks in your hand, here is some exposure to the real world you will be joining soon. All of us Dallas drivers are just thrilled to welcome you to the roads, let me tell ya!

Welcome to my view every morning! Did you know your car could actually go 2 MPH and you still need to break?

Coming up on George Bush (AKA- The longest, largest entrance ramp ever!)

Lets see how long it takes me to get that 1/2 mile and all the way through another mile. It's 8:11 a.m. GO!

La La La... Still sitting! Notice I'm in the left (fast) lane. HA!

Oh look at that side go! Dang it!

HECK! Even I'll exit George Bush if I can avoid this traffic. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!

Keep in mind: This is after getting a toddler ready and dropped off at school, and BEFORE coffee. KILL ME!

No Break lights! Everyone speed up!

And we are pretty much through...8:22 a.m.

REALLY?! Ridiculous! 12 minutes less than 2 miles

Oh HEY! Yeah, let's welcome all of these new comers onto the highway! Great Idea! There is plenty of room!

Oh LOOK! I just got through that mad house and there is only an 18 minute travel time at 8:22 to my exit! Awesome! I have to be at work at 8:30.

Oh Joy! I have finally gotten OFF the tollway at my exit and am about merge on to 635 with all of these happy commuters! Happy Hump Day DFW!

I live 20 miles from work.

20 miles at an average of 15 MPH

**You do the math**

...and that my Dear, was all she wrote...
